Manic Monday

pgybnk.jpg

Truly a manic Monday today.
Although there is no audio-production to show off it’s manic nonetheless.
You see, I’m in the process of buying a house, which is good news, because the schnauzer-studios will be a loooot bigger, heck there will be enough room to put all the keyboards in the studio (b3 piano rhodes etc.).

The bad news is, is that I’m tangled up in a web of mortgage-advisors, real estate bloodhounds and annoyed sellers.
It is sickening to an almost literally degree. Business is a game I really can’t play very well, so I’ve been on the phone since last thursday non-stop, getting all the help I can.

Wish me luck, I really am going to need it.

insert money by pink floyd… heck you do that yourself…everybody owns that record.. allright then go here:

Running with the devil

This had me laughing out loud today. The vocal track from David Lee Roth singing Running with the devil.
How chunklet got this mp3 is unclear to me, I don’t think it’s legal anyway to post it, but I’m a little fed up with these copyright restrictions.
Let the underground remixes roll in!

CD Tip

Sabbath in the Suburbs – by the Lounge Brigade.

A lounge-cocktail album with only Black Sabbath songs (the cover says it all).
From a rhumba version of ‘Paranoid’ to a swing-version of ‘Sabbath bloody Sabbath’.
Gold Jerry, gold!
I am a sucker for strange albums like this, and it warms my heart to see that there are still musicians out there who produce them. In this case it is produced by Joe Ferry. Now Who is Joe Ferry you ask? It is truly sickening to see his credentials.

Cara Mia

The reason I’m posting this is not because of the song but more because of the band. Jay and the Americans.
Halfway the song the backing singers come forward and you can see it very clearly.
To the right of Jay is… Donald Fagen and Walter Becker! The lore is that they met in this band and decided to start a thing called Steely Dan in the early seventies.

Manic Monday #28

A work in progress this week. first of all because my hammond organ is still in restauration, and second I couldn’t be bothered to record a real rhodes because of the fake-hammond organ… There is so much going on at the same time here that I seriously considered to slow my postings down. I gave that a little thought and I came to the conclusion that I’ll always am surfing for corny stuff, so I might as well share it through this blog.
Many of the songs that are in the works now are becoming much complexer and involve a lot more time than the things I did in the past. I still like to make sketch-like music now and again, but I feel the little things are getting in the way of the big and important things.

Basically this is a tune I ordered myself to finish. This has been cooking for quiet some time now, so the minute my organ is in I’m recording the final version.

enjoy,

The name game

A groove with a baritone constantly pumping underneath it always does it for me. This song is what we call a do-along-song. The singer shouts out instructions for e.g. your dance-moves. Shake your tailfeather was a good example of this (Tina Turner shouting out the dance moves the audience had to perform, although most of you will only remember Ray Charles in the Blues Brothers Movie, the original was by…Ike Turner) In this case it’s a …name-game duh!
If you can sit down on this Shirley Ellis song, there is something wrong with your feet!
