Behind the stage.

What happens when Schnauzer is not in the studio and is called the out last minute to do a DUO-gig with a hot London female soulsinger? You guessed correctly. They do a groovy evening ON stage, and… later they share a dressing room…the evening is still young, and so are they….. Well, see for yourself…

Very happy with the result on the wall, Schnauzer does the jazz hands. ‘Be Grateful for small mercys’

CdBaby.com

I just ordered ‘Joco Looks Back‘, a greatest hits album by internet phenomena Jonathan Coulton (and I suggest you do the same). Cd Baby replied at my order with the following e-mail. Needless to say I am still recovering. Talk about costumer service!

Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with
sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure
it was in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over
the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money
can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party
marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of
Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its way to you, in
our private CD Baby jet on this day, Wednesday, December 17th.

I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby.  We sure did.
Your picture is on our wall as "Customer of the Year."  We're all
exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sigh...

Fab Guiro

‘Hey, pssst… you take this you’ll like this. It might be a little over the edge for Beatles-purists, but you take this home and play it’ producer Phil Martin said to me last Monday while slipping a vinyl lp in my hands. Almost behaving like a drugpusher *insert Superfly music*. I got home, rushed to my record player and was amazed.
Ben from Corduroy has delivered an old fashioned record filled with Beatles covers in a Latin, Kingston, Cuban style. However the big star on this album is Majka Edyole, singing songs like ‘Taxman’ and ‘Baby you can drive my car’ in a tiny spanish accent she steals the show. I instantly send a mail to Phil: “This is not over the edge, this is behind the mountain over the edge and I am digging this! It’s like ‘Obladi, Oblada’ was written in Kingston.

Summertime

Yes, Christmas is upon us and I’m writing a post about summertime. That boggles the mind, but I can always sneak in some Billy Preston, and frankly youtube is an addicting place when you start searching for that man. I recently finished a George Harrison tribute tour, and my role was….Billy Preston of course. Playing the Hammond organ is one thing, but playing his material is another, and also a humbling experience.
Halfway during this video mr. Preston does a stunning imitation of Ray Charles, make sure you don’t skip that.

25 days of newman

Comedy music duo Paul and Storm are going to celebrate the 25 days until Christmas with the 25 days of Newman. Yes 25 songs sung in a Randy Newman voice every day. It’s best to get started listening now instead of waiting for 25 days to listen to them all in a row. That would be ehm… mindwrecking I guess.
(what about the Schnauzer radio orchestra? I got something up my sleeve this Christmas no worries…)
