Global Kryner

Digging through Global Kryner’s library of albums and movies feels like being a kid in a toystore. I had trouble picking just one example of their musical mastery.

Global Kryner is an Austria based ensemble consisting of austria’s finest musicians. And it shows; playing popmusic without losing all the musical puns and fun from the Oberkrainer polka’s takes a very deep insight and a high arranging skill. This had me spraying Coca Cola through my nose. It’s THAT good!

Trouble counting to ten…

Derek Paravicini is 26 years old,  doesn’t know left from right and has trouble counting to 10. He was born blind and lives in a home for autistic people. Despite his mental and physical disabilities, he is a wonderful pianist.

My question is: What does that say about pianists?

Can he speak Dutch?

SF-dutch
The question still remains; can Scott Fletcher speak dutch?

Over this past weekend I was in need of a voice talent badly AND with a killing deadline. I recorded the lines and sent them over to Scott so he could copy my dutch words. within 24 hours I got a sample back, with a remark at the end: “Wow! I have no idea if ANY of that is useful!”

It was, and like I stated before, a voice like that makes 99% of the promo. I just had to compose a 20 second suite under that and presto! Now Rotterdam knows they got a free jazzfestival coming up. And I’ve just made the fasted collaboration ever. (also one of my favourite DJ’s is spinning there: DJ Blue Flamingo, who spins only rare 78rpm records), now if you’ll excuse me I’ve got some sleep to catch up…

The Green Hornet theme

Awesome tune, only not sure what a hornet has got to do with a bumblebee….

Rock ‘n Robbikz

I think I sprained my funny bone laughing over this one.

‘Highway to health’ is coming to a festival near you. I love phrases like that, I came up with:

-Rage against the Row-machine.
-Jogging with the devil.

France Gall – Computer nr.3

A german song from 1968 about a computer which calculates the perfect date sure is enough to get a geeks heart pumping, but there is more. First notice the great, I mean GREAT pumping drums. This is no remix, remember: we’re in 1968! Second notice ‘Eight days a week’-quote in the middle. Yes, in those days that was called a quote. In these days that is called sampling and VERY illegal! Now if you will excuse me, I am going to finish watching “RiP! a Remix-manifesto” online.

Beatles: Rock Band

Today at E3 (games expo) the first beatles Rock band trailer was released. I am thrilled looking at all the details that went into this game. Every single stage looks right. Mc Cartney looks stunning and even has grown a beard when playing on the roof of Abbey Road. Heck even the release date is set on 09.09.09.  -kudos for those who get that reference-

Only now I am praying for a ludwig drum controler and a lefthanded Hofner bass (is that too much to ask?), and bonus points if you have the right hairstyle…
