20 years

Man, do I feel old. It has been 20 years since “Nevermind” by Nirvana came out. However, “smells like teen spirit” is a lot older. I ran into a carousel dating back from 1910, and guess what tune it was playing? Needless to say, this was a pretty scary ride.

The Morning Stream

New tune was just delivered to Frogpants studios’ daily podcast “the Morning stream.

Lots of 70′s morning-magazine-dude-where-is-my-moog-vibe going on.

Share and enjoy!

Studio closed

At this very moment there isn’t a single cable connected. I am moving into a bigger studio. (although some might say: ” what do you mean “closed”, this looks perfectly fine!).

In the meantime the “East Screen-West Screen” podcast just upped their production value adding a commissioned piece I did for them.

-again, some might say ” lowered their production value”

Right now I am moving West, but you can hear Schnauzer going east right here:

Zabada

If anyone can explain to me what a Zabada is… I have no idea why this turned out like this, but for some reason I needed a robot wizzard spelling out zabada throughout the song.

Anyways, enjoy this next Schnauzer Radio Orchestra preview.

Re-re-remix

  • Step 1.

Post an audioboo with the title “Stylophone through octaver through ringmod through space echo = instant rockband” (recorded with an iphone)

  • Step 2

Get Marco Raaphorst to steal it and remix it, and post it on his blog “melodiefabriek

Stylo Rock da Show

  • Step 3

Re-stole the mp3 from Marco’s blog and re-re-mixed it. This time stretching it 800% Justin Bieber style. The result is a 13 minute giant robot bee factory, not unfitting as a soundtrack for “Texas Chainsaw Massacre part XXIV”. The truly demented part starts at 1:22. That’s the bit where the mutated cyborg giants start to drag the bee corpses back to their factory.

And all that noise coming from a single stylophone…

Geek a Week

What does one do when cartoonist Len Peralta (we all know from his awesome Monster By Mail project) cries out for help, and practically falls on his knees for a piece of original audio?
That’s right, you let him beg some more, make him bark a little, then get to work.

Geek a Week is a project where Len interviews one geek a week and draws an additional playing card about that person. You can read all about it and listen to the podcast right here.

Long story short: I did the opening- and closing music and you can listen to a short version here.

Current Geek Weekly

current-geek

R.I.P ExtraLifeRadio, Hello Current Geek Weekly!

ELR was all about nerdy stuff  like videogames, books, crappy movies, and more. Most of those segments have got their own show nowadays like Filmsack for crappy movies, The Instance for Warcraft, Appslappy for iPhone apps, and now there is Current Geek Weekly, covering the rest.

O.K. I didn’t post this to sum up all the podcast I listen to,  I posted this because I did the tune. Click below to listen to the show.

Winter Wonderland

winterstylophone

What is Christmas without a SuperNES, a Stylophone, a Wurlitzer and an all girls 60s choir? Nothing, I tell you!
Since I’m breaking a few laws with this one I am not telling who are the singers nanana.
Also it is unclear where the sampling stops and where the true schnauzer-sauce is starting. I’m just telling you can leave out the ladies and still a full track is playing for your little bear-dance. (If I’m ever planning to release this legally I would have to, don’t you just love copyright law?)
This track is sort of a new years resolution. The resolution is: A whole lot more like this to come!

Anyhow, wishing you all a Happy Christmas!

(do with this track as you please. Blog about it, remix it, give it away to your worst enemies, or just do a little nerdy dance to it.)
