When my youngest niece Bette was born, she instantly received a nickname ‘babushka’. Don’t ask me why, I guess she just reminded us of one. Now the Matryomin is a cross between a Babushka and a Theremin. Even a step further below is the Matryomin Ensemble. There is something haunting about the song too. I have put this on repeat. Happy First Birhtday Bette Babushka!

I can’t believe I didn’t mention this earlier. This was on my bloglist for ages, but here we go.
On South Park Episode 128 there is this Chinese Singer featured called ‘Wing’. I won’t spoil the plot of the episode but I’ll just say that singing talents like she has are few and far between. By accident I discovered that she was actually based on a real person, with her own website, career, discography and numerous youtube movies. The music in that particular episode is very real, and comes from CD nr.9 in her catalog.

Be warned though: extreme corny midi-files , and sung with a tiny little accent. But don’t let that spoil the party! (my favourite CD I found on her site is: ‘Wing sings AC/DC’, but that goes without saying.

Get it while it’s hot. This is all over the internet and is being removed due to copyright problems.
I have no clue what removing this song of various videosites is going to help “Ooedo No Hikeshi”. All over the messageboards people are asking for a CD or a DVD. Guess what: I couldn’t find them. perhaps due to the languange barrier, but it could very well be, that the company behind this never expected to sell any CD outside of Japan. Any Japanese people who can put me in the right direction are welcome because I am dying to learn more about this orchestra.
(to all the publishers out there: the internet is full with people like me. We listen, watch, experience, get aroused and want to know more and buy a CD. Removing this or making shure it’s not even published on the net is like making shure it doesn’t exist.)

I’m back. No good news …yet… but I stopped worrying, cleaned up up the studio, done some philicorda tracks and worked on the elr-album to blow off some steam.
The next clip illustrates my state of mind perfectly.

Shingo Mama was a Japanese program in which a man dressed in pink came over to your house to wake the family, make breakfast with anything that was leftover in the fridge, and send the children to school in time while the mother was sleeping (she was the only one who knew up front that he/she was coming)

The single ‘Oharock’ was a major hit in Japan in 2001.
“OhhÄ?!” means good morning.

Pay close attention at the 2:00 mark…. that’s how I ran into this.
